The Montana State Men's Track and Field program announced the signing of Jacob Turner to a national letter of intent to run track and cross country beginning in the fall of 2011.

Turner comes to Bozeman from Lolo, Mont. where he attends Missoula Sentinel High School and will graduate this spring.

For the Spartans, Turner finished first in the state at the AA Cross Country Championship. Most recently, he garnered a lifetime best in the Mile Run at the high-profile Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho, as he clocked in at 4:23.29 and finished in fourth place.

“Jake will have an immediate impact on both our cross country and track teams,” said head coach Dale Kennedy. “As one of the top runners in this region, we are excited that he's going to be a Bobcat.”
