Missouri Boys Performer Of The Week (May 6-11)

It's time to vote for the Missouri Boys Performer Of The Week! This is the 8th poll for the 2024 season and only two more are left.

Congrats to last week's winner Vernell Holt from Columbia Battle. He won with 68% of the votes and had more than 4,500 votes cast for him. The junior set a new school record in the long jump with a distance of 7.39 meters/24-3, winning the event at the Hillsboro InvitationalThe jump moved him to 2nd on the state performance list. He was second in the 100-meter dash and sixth in the triple jump.

Kanden Bolton, Crystal City

The Hornets standout won the long jump (23-0 3/4) and triple jump (43-3 3/4) and was third in the high jump at the Class 2 Sectional 1 meet in Park Hills on Saturday.

Jackson Free, West Plains (pictured at top)

The sophomore took home first place in the Class 4 District 6 meet on Saturday in both the 1,600-meter run (4:30.49) and the 3,200-meter (9:46.76) for the Zizzers. He added a second on the 4x800-meter relay team.

Grayson Ellett, Ft Zumwalt West

Seeded 11th going into the Class 5 District 3 shot put event the junior took fourth place overall to advance to sectionals.

Jackson Hensley, California

The sophomore was on the 4x100-meter relay team that broke the school record which stood since 2012 with a time of 44.72 -- besting the old 44.80 mark. He also took first place in the 110-meter hurdles at the Class 3 Sectional 3 meet to move on to the state finals.
