Pair of Pole Vaulters get Big Sky Nod

The Big Sky Conference has named Bobby Biskupiak and Stacey Irvine the Big Sky Field Athletes of the Week for the week of May 9.

Both pole vaulters had extraordinary weeks at the Tom Gage Classic on May 6, hosted by Montana State. Biskupiak, who's previous season best was 16-08.75, launched himself to an impressive 17-02.75 (5.25m) to win the event. His height ranks him third all-time in the Bobcat record book.

Irvine, who also won the pole vault at the Tom Gage, bested her season's personal record finishing with a height of 13-00.25 (3.97m).

The conference honors marks the fifth and sixth time this spring an Bobcat has earned an athlete of the week nod.

Headed into the Big Sky Championships, Irvine holds the top seed in the women's pole vault, while Biskupiak ranks second.
