Well Done in Washington

Bobcat Track and Field had another strong day of competition at the Duane Hartman Invitational in Spokane, Wash. on Saturday, April 30. After competing just the night before at the Pelluer Invitational, MSU returned to the track with several impressive performances. (Results)

Olivia Rider led the way for the Bobcat women finishing first in the 200 with a time of 25.44 and third in the 100 in 12.73. In the field events, Amber Amsbaugh took first in the high jump with a height of 5-03.75 (1.62m).

For the MSU men, Jacob Kirk took first in the 1,500 in 3:58.74 while teammate Matt Tex took third in 4:00.29. Nick Melone had another strong showing in the sprints with a third place finish in the 400 hurdles in 55.81. Sprinter Gage Pickering took second in the 200 in 22.81.

“Overall, this was a great two days for this group,” said head coach Dale Kennedy. “They had a lot of great performances and gained a lot of experience.”

Another group of Bobcats close out the weekend on Sunday at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
