Several Montana high school track and field athletes posted personal records during meets held May 14-15.
Lauren McManus (Glacier) threw 43-1 in the shot put at the Glacier Columbia Falls Dual on May 14, improving from her previous best of 29-0 and setting a school record. The mark places her second among 807 shot put entries in Montana this season. McManus won the event among 14 competitors and also set a personal record in the discus, throwing 78-0 after entering with a best of 69-4.
Caleb Fifield (Capital) ran 11.49 in the 100 meters at Capital/Helena High on May 14, dropping from his previous personal record of 12.73. The sophomore finished 10th among 63 competitors and ranks 128th in Montana and 18th among sophomores statewide.
Isaac Mauws (Hobson) ran 16.20 in the 110-meter hurdles at the District 7-C Meet on May 15, improving from 16.89. He won the event among five competitors and ranks 40th among 268 hurdlers in Montana. Mauws also set personal records in the 100 meters (12.15, previous best 12.34) and 300-meter hurdles (44.09, previous best 44.13) at the same meet.
Ashlyn Sokoloski (Billings West) ran 13.27 in the 100 meters at the Billings Public School City Meet on May 14, improving from 13.64. The sophomore placed fifth among 11 competitors and ranks 100th in Montana and 22nd among sophomores. Sokoloski also recorded a personal best of 15-1 in the long jump, improving from 14-8.
Jenette Subrayan (Hellgate) ran 13.32 in the 100 meters at the Greg Rice City Meet on May 14, improving from her April personal record of 13.67. The freshman finished fourth among 18 competitors and ranks 108th in Montana and 13th among freshmen statewide.
Cayde Stajcar (Butte) ran 11.25 in the 100 meters at Butte/Beaverhead/Butte Central on May 14, improving from 11.59. He won the event among 30 competitors and ranks 47th among 2,114 sprinters in Montana.
Alex Arthur (Custer County District) ran 2:10.23 in the 800 meters at the Bill Kelly Eastern A Twilight Invitational on May 15, improving from 2:15.54. The sophomore placed 11th among 24 competitors and ranks 148th in Montana and 24th among sophomores in the event.
