Kennedy Announces Hiring of Two Assistant Coaches

Montana State Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Dale Kennedy announced the hiring of two assistant coaches for the programs.

Lyle Weese, comes to the Bobcat staff as an assistant coach in both cross country and track and field. He had a successful collegiate career at MSU from 1998-2003. Weese was a captain of the MSU cross country men's squad in 2002 that placed 11th in the NCAA national championships. He was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-region selection as a Bobcat and was a multiple All-American in track and field in the 3000 and steeple chase. He was a volunteer coach for the Bobcats last season

Anne Timmons will coach the sprints and hurdles. She was an All-American at the University of Washington in the 800, and her first collegiate coach was Kennedy at Spokane Community College. After serving as a successful high school coach in Spokane area high schools, she was the head women's coach for Pomona and Pitzer College in California from 1984-89. She was an assistant for Montana from 1989-91 as well. She also has extensive experience as a race director and assistant coach for the Mountain West Track Club. Timmons was also a volunteer coach at MSU in 2008-09.

“We are really excited to have both Lyle and Anne,” Kennedy said. “Their transitions here will be easy for our staff and our kids as both of them have already been here. They both have strong connections to our program and have a familiarity with our student-athletes that is a real asset.”
