RONAN - The Hamilton cross country teams
swept the titles Friday at the Ronan Canal Bank meet.
The Hamilton girls placed four harriers
among the top-10 individuals and scored a team total of 34 points.
Frenchtown was second at 46, followed by St. Ignatius with 54 and
Ronan with 94.
Frenchtown's Emily Schall claimed
individual medalist honors, crossing the finish in 20 minutes,
seven seconds. That was 1:37 faster than her closest competition,
Ashley Courville of St. Ignatius.
Hamilton's best runner, Sarah De Rae, was
third at 23:00. Ronan's Ashley Grandchamp (21:40) and Sarah Arnish
(23:19) from Hamilton rounded out the top five.
The Bronc boys totaled 28 points, 11 fewer
than runner-up Ronan. Frenchtown with 58 and St. Ignatius with 133
followed.
Easton Albert of Hamilton, who placed 17th
at the Butte Central Invitational on Tuesday, was the fastest male,
clocking a 17:37.
Kevin Wroblewski from Ronan took second in
17:54 and Collin Johns from Hamilton placed third in 18:01.
