MSU Hosts Bobcat Open Saturday

Despite the wintery conditions, Montana State will host its first outdoor track and field meet of the year Saturday at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex.

This is only the second outdoor meet of the year for the 'Cats. Field events will begin at 11:00 with track events at noon.
The meet includes entries from MSU-Billings, Rocky Mountain College and Montana State.
Five 'Cats have performances in the top 48 in the region.
“This is significant,” head coach Dale Kennedy said, “because the top 48 in each event in the region qualify for the regional meet.”
The five include Heather Haug in the steeple chase, Kris Schaffer in the shot put, Emily Tyrrell in the javelin, Matt Adams in the steeple chase, and Pat Eckerson in the hammer throw. Haug, Schaffer and Tyrrell lead the conference in the events as well.
