Montana State thrower Pat Eckerson placed second at the Big Sky Conference Championships in the weight throw Friday afternoon at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. 

Eckerson's throw of 59'10.5" was over two inches better than his season best throw to date. 

MSU's David Phillips placed sixth with a throw of 56'11.25" and teammate Morgan Norgaard placed eighth with a throw of 56'5.25". The event was won by Curtis Durocher (Northern Arizona) with a personal record throw of 65'8.75". That throw puts him 23rd on the national descending order list. NAU teammate Ian Nunya was third with a throw of 59'1.25".
