Montana State track and field student-athletes Camille Marchand and Amanda Murphy received Big Sky Conference Athlete of the Week honors in track and field, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Junior Amanda Murphy from Charlo threw a conference qualifier in both the shot put and weight throw last week. Her weight throw mark of 59'4” put her on the top of the performance list in the Big Sky Conference and is a foot longer than the second best mark. Her shot put heave of 44'6.75” is good for fifth place in the conference to date. Murphy is a business major.

“This is a great honor for these two,” head coach Dale Kennedy said. “It's the first time for Camille and the second time for Amanda.”

David McNeill of Northern Arizona was the men's track honoree of the week for his mile mark of 4:10.15 (altitude adjusted), an NCAA provisional mark. Teammate Charles White was the men's field honoree of the week for his conference leading performances in both the long and triple jump.
