Another great week for Herron. Ran 21.06 in the 200m prelims at A&M before skipping the final to focus on the 4x4 where he split 45.61.
3
For the second week in a row, there's movement in the top five. Allen moves to US #3 in the 300m and now #3 in the MileSplit50. It was a very tough decision to move him over Garland, but Allen's performances in his events have been stronger.
4
Kyle Garland had good but not great marks this week. He competed in the Hispanic Games where he won the 55H, finished 6th in the 200m final, and high jumped 6-8.

The indoor season has finally begun for Hengst. Just some casual racing in Maryland on Friday. The VAShowcase will have a massive impact on the MileSplit50 and that's where Hengst will have his opportunity to rise up the rankings after racing Brodey Hasty in the 1K.

No PRs this week, but proves his consistency again.

Hosten drops a few places after his 53.9 400m at the Hispanic Games.
16
Kris Moore led his Clinton squad back to the Crossplex for their first races of 2018 and lowered his US #2 400m time to 47.82. Moore also came away with a 7.01 in the 60m and US #9 1:30 4x200m.
17
Marcellus Moore began his indoor season in impressive fashion against some of the best sprinters in the country at A&M. His 6.94 was just a lean away from winning the 60m but he managed to come out on top in the 200m with a US #5 21.61. The MileSplit50 is dominated by seniors and upperclassmen. Impressive for the Illinois sophomore to already be inside the top 20.

I said last week that Davis was in a tough spot to stay in the top 20 and he responded with a big 21.74 at Kevin Dare. This moves him into the top ten in the 200m and Sweet Home also earned a season best 1:31 in the 4x200m.

Okheme Moore has been showing some very impressive consistency this season. He clocked his third sub-7.0 and 48s 400m this weekend. He briefly moved back to the top of the national rankings in the 60m, but that now belongs to Dallin Draper.
23
Up and down weekend for Fuller. Started off well cruising through the A&M prelims in 48.7 and 22.04 but unfortunately was forced out of the finals with a groin injury. Talking to him after the meet, Fuller said he won't be racing this week and hopes to be back at the end of the month. Had he raced in the finals, it's likely he would've moved into the top 20. Positive side is that there's still plenty of time left in the season and hopefully he'll come back from the injury even stronger.
24
One meet and straight to the top of the national rankings. 7.78 win in the 60H at A&M and made it look easy.
25
Decent start to the season for Green. His third place finish in the 60H moves him to US #4 and he ran a 22.19 in the 200m.
26
Ramey backed up his Crossplex 400m with a US #6 48.34 in a really exciting race in the finals at A&M. Difficult being part of a 4x4 relay that was DQed, but he also split 48 in the 400m there.
27
Have been waiting for Draper's first race and he didn't disappoint. He was one of the top 60m returners and it only took him one race to post a 6.79. He's not only the fastest man in the country right now, but also top ten in the 200m.
28
Green falls in the rankings after the Hispanic Games.

Causey maintains his position in the top 40, but has a number of strong athletes moving up behind.

Kujdych won his race over the weekend, but a 8:39 3K is not enough to keep him where he was in the rankings compared to the performances of other athletes.

Mayson Conner shocked the competition in Texas. He becomes the first athlete to clear 7' in the high jump this year on his way to becoming the national leader in the event.
42
Chawonza dropped out of the rankings after weeks of no racing, but he's back after posting a 1:54 800m at the Hispanic Games.
43
Stewart earned a second place finish in the Hispanic Games 200m and 4th in the 55m. While he lost to Kristian Marche in the 55m, Stewart moves up because DeMatha Catholic won the 4x2 in a US #5 1:30.4.
44
Decent weekend for Marche who won the Hispanic Games 55m, but was only 20th in the 200m prelims. Unable to run under 23 seconds.
45
The 600m national leader posted a 1:21 for the second week in a row.

Proving he can do more than run the 500m, Ross moved into the top ten in the 300m and also got in some high jumping.
49
Woods keeps his spot, but if there's no improvement soon he'll drop to the rising athletes on the bubble.
50
Shea Weilbaker ran a great race to win the Freedom Games 3200m in 9:15. His US #1 mark converts to a faster time than Nathan Lawler's US #1 two mile. We'll see if he can follow in the footsteps of Aidan Tooker and bring the Saratoga boys program back into the national spotlight.

EXPLAINING MILESPLIT50:

These are subjective rankings of the top 50 athletes across all indoor track and field events. Feel free to reach out to MileSplit via email (travis.miller@flosports.tv) or on Twitter (@milesplit or @TravisMillerFlo)

Here are the attributes MileSplit considered when ranking athletes (in no particular order):

- IAAF points for ballpark numbers to compare performances across different events

- PRs

- Returning indoor track & field rankings

- Significant wins/results in previous indoor seasons

- More weight on "championship" events (I took stats and performances from ALL events into consideration, but championship events are more important at the national level)

- Participation in relays

- 2018 indoor track & field results

- Indoor competition frequency (these are rankings for indoor track & field, not necessarily the best all around XC/indoor/outdoor athletes)
