The Montana State Cross Country teams return to action on Friday, Sept. 30, when they travel to Missoula for the Montana Invitational at the UM Golf Course.
This is the first race since the Bozeman Running Company Invitational hosted by the Bobcats back on Sept. 17.
The men enter Saturday's race with a no. 13 ranking in the Mountain Region.
Seth Grossman was the top finisher last time out but was directly followed by
Trevor Polson and
Jacob Kirk. Newcomer
Jake Turner will also be looked to for depth for the Bobcats.
Heather Haug returns for her first meet of the year. Last year, the Livingston native finished 16
th at the Big Sky Championship and is a clear contender as a conference leader.
Keely West and
Heather Demorest will also look to stay at the front of the pack.
Joining the Bobcats in the meet are host Montana, Gonzaga, Eastern Washington, MSU-Billings and Carroll.
“We're just excited to get back out there and compete,” said head coach
Dale Kennedy. “The return of Heather is a huge push for our women and the men have been working hard to improve their team performance. I'm looking forward to what we do up in Missoula.”
The women's 5K race is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m. with the men's 8K following at 10:30.
