Carter Blunt Out With Injury For Post Season

Carter Blunt announced on twitter early Wednesday morning that he will not be racing the rest of the cross country season due to an injury. Blunt told Texas MileSplit that he has a torn plantar fascia and will be out anywhere from 4-6 weeks. The Frisco Independence senior and UCLA commit is a top returner to this weekend's Foot Locker South region meet, where he placed runner-up in 2014 just behind Andrew Hunter. He placed 13th at Foot Locker Nationals last year, where he was the No. 3 returner behind only Hunter and Austin Tamagno of California.

Blunt did manage to finish his season on a strong note by capturing his third Texas state cross country title.

We wish him the best of luck to a speedy recovery!
