Just weeks ago, Helena (MT) High freshman Tre Tintinger set an unofficial age class world record in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 11 inches at a local meet.
The 14-year-old's response Friday at the Montana AA Championships did one better.
It appears Tintinger logged an official age class world record mark -- his previous height was achieved at an unsanctioned meet -- and set a new Class AA best with a final leap of 7-1.5, which broke a 24-year-old record of 7-1 held by Mark Koefelda of Missoula Hellgate in 1993.
With the effort, Tintinger moved up US No. 6 in the high jump.
